Avery Campbell and Will McNeil set out with the simple goal of creating nine cocktails by reinterpreting the nine songs off of the 1979 album, "Paraiso," by Haruomi Hosono and The Yellow Magic Band. Not satisfied to stop there, they wanted to create original pieces of art to accompany each recipe, as well as their namesake songs, by combining Avery's photography and Will's illustrations. All of these ingredients come together to create unique pairings in this multi-sensory experience. The goal was to push ourselves and the readers creatively, to inspire people to try cocktails with ingredients they may have never heard of, learn to create some of their own ingredients, and do some experimenting of their own.
