Campbell Suzuki is a contemporary art gallery and photography studio founded in 2025 by Avery Campbell. Spurred on by a noticeable gap in the West between the immense interest for Japanese contemporary artists and the difficulty in entering such a foreign cultural arena, we began this project foremost to support artists in Kyoto and beyond to establish themselves and reach new audiences.

In this vein, Campbell Suzuki also serves as a photography and documentation studio catering to artists, makers, creators, and cultural producers alike. Over time, we hope to introduce new projects that will help us foster relationships and grow Kyoto’s reputation as a cultural capital.

Campbell Suzuki is at its heart a family endeavour. It follows the heels of our life in Chicago operating Shane Campbell Gallery. The name follows Shane’s father’s motorcycle shop of the same name, Campbell Suzuki of Whittier, California.
